About the Latino Caribbean Diaspora Collaborative Community at the AIDS 2012 Global Village
PROGRAM (provides links to PowerPoint presentations)
The Latino Caribbean Diaspora Collaborative (LCDC) Community, developed by a multidisciplinary, multinational group of HIV professionals, showcased approximately 50 diverse HIV/AIDS community programs from across the Caribbean, Central American, Mexico, South America, and the United States. The Community offered educational, cultural, social, scientific, and networking opportunities through panels, posters, speaker presentations, films, special performances, and interactive displays in the Global Village. Reflecting the unity implied in the AIDS 2012 Turning the Tide Together focus, the LCDC Community’s theme—Puentes Entre Vecinos/Bridges Between Neighbors—refers to interconnection, interaction, harmony, and solidarity across HIV stakeholders. The Community’s structure featured neighborhoods representing the geographical areas connected by bridges. The Community Plaza provided centralized space.
