Francisco Ruiz has over ten years of experience in the field of HIV/AIDS and human rights that spans the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean. As Senior Manager of the Health Equity Program at the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD), Francisco provides guidance on how to address the disproportionate impact of HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis among diverse communities, including gay men/MSM, African Americans and Latinos. In addition, Francisco serves as Chair of the National Latino AIDS Action Network (NLAAN), a diverse coalition of community members, health departments, service providers, researchers and other key stakeholders that identifies and prioritizes key action steps to address the HIV/AIDS epidemic of Latino/Hispanic communities. In 2010, Francisco was named one of the 100 most influential AIDS advocates by POZ Magazine. His commentary and work has appeared on various media outlets such as Destination Casa Blanca, TuSalud, POZ Magazine, and AIDS.gov.
